With a long wait between LID and referral it seems premature to begin setting up a nursery but there is nothing that says that we can't at least think about it.  The room that will be Lili's nursery is currently set up as our library so the first thing we have to do is figure out where to put all of our books.

"Before"

"After" will wait for a bit but in the meantime we have been giving it some thought.  We bought the Secret Garden bedding because we liked the bold colors and of course the dragonfly theme.

We've also picked out a crib and possibly some other furniture, although we won't buy anything until we are nearing a referral.  We visited a baby furniture showroom and Bill chose this crib with a Cherry finish. The furniture is made by a family-owned business in Buena Vista, Georgia. They don't sell their furniture in big stores, but prefer to have you visit one of their small showrooms where they explain the unique features of their product.  We liked what we saw and the way they presented it to us. The furniture is very sturdy and can grow with the baby and converts to a toddler bed and then a full sized bed. The front of the crib folds down rather than slides up and down; it requires both hands to open or close and has a unique design that insures that the baby's fingers won't get pinched in the drop gate.
